Angels sign INF Cantu to minor-league contract

The Los Angeles Angels and free-agent infielder Jorge Cantu have reached an agreement on a minor-league contract. Cantu will receive an invitation to spring training. He was waived June 21 by the San Diego Padres after hitting .194 with three home runs and 16 RBIs in 57 games last season. Cantu, who has spent time with five teams in his career, drove in 100 runs with Florida in 2009.
