Barrett Barnes has been promoted to West Virginia.
The Pirates have promoted Barrett Barnes to West Virginia. Barnes was previously in extended Spring Training getting extra at-bats and recovering from an oblique injury that he had at the end of Spring Training. The at-bats were meant to make up for the lost time from the end of camp, and get him ready for the season.

**Jason Townsend has been promoted from Bradenton to Altoona. Kris Harvey has been placed on the Altoona disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Townsend had a 2.23 ERA in 68.2 innings in relief with Bradenton, with a 5.5 K/9 and a 2.8 BB/9 ratio.
