ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Los Angeles Angels have acquired outfielder Matt Joyce from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for right-handed reliever Kevin Jepsen.

The Los Angeles Angels and Tampa Bays agreed to a trade that will send fan favorite Matt Joyce to the west coast for reliever Kevin Jepsen. Joyce, who was an All-Star in 2011, spent six of his seven seasons in the majors with Tampa Bay coming to the Rays in a trade with the Detroit Tigers. The reliever that Angels fans loved to hate had the audacity to go out and actually pitch really well this season. What’s up with that, Jepsen? Bullpen whipping boys aren’t supposed to work hard, dedicate themselves to their game and turn into a high quality reliever. We’re going to have to investigate this further.
