Ryu Quiets Miami
Hyun-Jin Ryu dominated the Miami Marlins for nearly seven innings in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 7-1 win on Saturday. It was Kevin Slowey’s worst start as a Marlin that coupled with Ryu’s effort led to the blowout loss. Miami is now 11-26 on the year and they continue to struggle with runners in scoring position going 0-4 in those situations in this game.

Sleepers Who Have Been Slept On: Miami Marlins

Welcome to the latest installment of “Sleepers Who Have Been Slept On.” The Miami Marlins are the second worst team in baseball if you take into account their run differential. As of Tuesday, they have allowed 44 more runs than they have scored. This is tied for second with the disappointing Toronto Blue Jays.
The Marlins have assembled a young...
Kevin Slowey’s Winless Drought Comes To End
The last time that right-hand starting pitcher Kevin Slowey received a winning decision was on September 18, 2010. At least, that was the case. Slowey finally earned a win today, May 5, 2013, pitching seven scoreless innings against the Philadelphia Phillies, allowing two hits and walking a pair while striking out seven during the Miami Marlins 14-2 victory. Slowey has pitched...
Miami Puts Up 14 Runs
The Miami Marlins’ offense has a big day on Sunday beating the Philadelphia Phillies by a final score of 14-2. Miami scored nine runs in the first few innings and continued to add on as the game progressed. The oddity of this outburst is Kevin Slowey was the starter and he had received the worst run support thus far. With the ton of support, Slowey won his first game as...
Comeback Extends Win Streak To Three
The Miami Marlins didn’t lead on Tuesday until the end of the game but that was good enough for the 2-1 victory over the New York Mets which was their third straight win. Kevin Slowey pitched a masterful eight innings but was a victim once again of low run support. The third consecutive win gives Miami it’s longest winning streak of the year and improves their record to...

Miami Drops Another Close One
Kevin Slowey received run support on Thursday but it was not enough to give him his first win of the year as the Miami Marlins fell to the Chicago Cubs by a final of 4-3. Slowey was in a position to win entering the sixth inning but allowed the tying run. The Marlins are now 5-17 on the season and continue to be able to string two or more wins together. Despite only being...
Can Kevin Slowey Replace “Fausto Carmona”?
Other than noting the unfortunate nature of the whole story, I don’t have much to say about the pitcher formerly known as Fausto. From what I can gather, it sounds like he’s not going to make it to Spring Training. Which, I believe, means he’ll be put on the “restricted” list, a form of MLB purgatory wherein you do not receive a paycheck. It’s mostly a sad story...
Twins trade RHP Slowey to Rockies for later player
The Minnesota Twins have traded winless pitcher Kevin Slowey to the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named.
The deal was announced Tuesday during baseball's winter meetings.
Slowey went 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA this year and was out from May to August because of an abdominal strain. He made eight starts and six relief appearances and the Twins went 0-14 in those games.
Slowey...

Twins trade Kevin Slowey to the Rockies for a PTBNL or cash considerations
According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports, the Minnesota Twins have traded right handed pitcher Kevin Slowey to the Colorado Rockies for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Back in July, we learned that the Rockies had interest in Slowey, and that the Twins were looking at the Rockies’ bullpen for possible targets.
The 27-year old Slowey was 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA in 59...
