Indians sign INF Hernandez, RHP Rondon

CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cleveland Indians have signed infielder Luis Hernandez to a minor league contract and re-signed right-hander Hector Rondon. Both deals include invitations to spring training. Hernandez spent most of 2012 with Texas' Triple-A affiliate. The 28-year-old batted .262 with eight homers and 70 RBIs in 129 games. He played 113 games at shortstop and 15 at second...

Utility infielder watch begins

Manager Ron Washington did some early infield work with Luis Hernandez and Yangervis Solarte on Saturday. He will do the same with Alberto Gonzalez and Greg Miclat on Sunday. They are the four candidates in camp to be the utility infielder.
