Mark Teahen asked for and was given his unconditional release by the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. Struggling for their Triple-A Reno minor league farm club, a change of scenery could help. Mark Teahen asked and was granted his release from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Teahen, 31, has not appeared in the major leagues since 2011 and was hitting just .211 for Triple-A Reno.
The seven year veteran will receive some interest as a free agent and should not have to sit out too long before getting another gig even with a .211/.318/.254 line this season....

The Blue Jays designated third baseman Mark Teahen for assignment to open a 40-man roster spot for Darren Oliver, announced the team.
The Jays acquired Teahen from the White Sox as part of a salary dump, and they'll be assuming the $5.5MM left on his contract for 2012. Â The 30-year-old hit .200/.273/.300 in 177 plate appearances last year, playing the infield and outfield corners.
