Mike Quade Irked By Dale Sveum’s Comments About 2011 Cubs
You’d be pretty hard-pressed to find a Cubs fan that was too disappointed when Mike Quade was fired this past fall.
Theo Epstein decided not to retain him and brought in Dale Sveum, one of the more coveted names out on the managerial market, to replace him.
Quade didn’t have too much to work with in 2011, so obviously not all the blame falls on him, but between his questionable...

Mike Quade takes issue with Dale Sveum’s evaluation of Cubs’ effort
When Dale Sveum was hired as Mike Quade’s replacement to manage the Cubs, he said the Cubs would be held to a higher standard. He suggested Quade’s Cubs were lackadaisical at times. “When you lose that many games, there are obviously problems,’’ Sveum said. “Losing isn’t OK. Not running a ball out isn’t OK. It’s unacceptable, and that has to be communicated.’’...

MLB Look-alikes: Mike Quade and Sloth from The Goonies
The Golden Sombrero presents MLB Look-alikes: Mike Quade and Sloth from The Goonies
This one definitely ranks as one the meanest thus far alongside Kerwin Danley & The Thing, Dave Duncan and the Emperor from Star Wars, and Julian Taverez & Freddy Krueger.

THE BELL TOLLS FOR THEE?
Five coaches whose hot seats got hotter
1 of 0 Theo Epstein has a huge task in front of him. Does he walk into his first season as President of Baseball Operations for the Chicago Cubs with Mike Quade? Or without him? Personally- Mike Quade should have been fired before he was hired so you know where I stand. These are the top 3 candidates to replace Quade.

Mike Quade Fired, Dale Sveum May Join Dream Team
Yesterday, Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein announced the Chicago Cubs and manager Mike Quade have parted ways. Kudos to Theo Epstein for not doing what we all expected him to: Fire Quade immediately.
It appears Epstein — like he has approached most everything in his young Cubs reign — decided to withhold judgement until he had fully investigated the...

Mike Quade out. Ryne Sandberg not an option.
As is probably common knowledge by now, Cubs President Theo Epstein flew down to Florida today to meet with Mike Quade and tell him face-to-face that he will not be retained as the Cubs manager for 2012.
In addition, Epstein also contacted Ryne Sandberg and told him that he would not be a candidate for the job, as the Cubs are looking for someone with managerial or coaching experience...

Mike Quade Fired By Chicago Cubs
ESPN has reported that Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade will not return next season. Theo Epstein met with Quade last week for about 7 hours, and clearly the conversation wasn’t good enough for Quade to keep his job.
I personally am thrilled with this move. Look- Mike Quade has been around for a long time. He’s managed in the minor leagues for a long time, and he’...
