Chris Young, Pedro Beato and Josh Thole rehab start 5/31/12
Chris Young had a very solid day on the mound. He threw a total of 6 innings with 87 total pitches and 50 strikes. The control wasn’t so much wavering as the 3 walks might indicate, you have to realize that Chris Young lives on the corners and is going to miss them on occasion. Young’s velocity lived between the Fastball: 82 MPH and his Off Speed: 63 MPH.
In the whole...

Matt Harvey and Pedro Beato lead Bisons to win
With the struggling Manny Acosta finally banished from the bullpen, Mets fans are hoping Pedro Beato can soon fill the void. Fortunately, it looks like the 25-year-old is progressing well in his rehab and his 2012 debut for the Mets isn’t far off. Yesterday, Beato pitched in relief of Matt Harvey, one of New York’s top pitching prospects, and eventually earned the...

Jenrry Mejia, Chris Young and Pedro Beato: On the mend and on the way
Jenrry Mejia: Was just sent up to AAA. This tells me that the Mets are serious about the potential of Mejia going into the bullpen in 2012. I don’t like this plan and am in the camp of keeping Mejia in the minors and starting throughout 2012. Now… this is a little bit conspiracy theory and the Mets could keep him a starter in AAA but I’m betting they don’t.
Mejiaâ...

Last night, reliever Pedro Beato allowed one hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning. Beato Has Right Rotator Cuff Inflammation
An MRI this morning revealed that reliever Pedro Beato has right rotator cuff inflammation, but no structural damage in his right shoulder.
A team spokesman said that he will begin light throwing as early as Friday. This is good news of course and a couple of days of rest should do the trick.
Beato was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Cardinals with stiffness in his right...
