Yankees sign Ramon Ortiz to fill AAA rotation
With David Phelps landing a job as the longman out of the Yankees bullpen, they need somebody to fill his rotation spot in Triple-A. Enter Ramon Ortiz. The Yankees signed the 39-year-old Ortiz, who pitched with the Cubs last season, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Right-hander Ramon Ortiz has agreed to a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants and been invited to big league spring training. The 38-year-old went 1-2 with a 4.86 ERA in 22 appearances with two starts last year for the Chicago Cubs in his 11th major league season. He will join his eighth team.
