Scott Podsednik's 'Big League Bump' Not Enough to Jump-Start Struggling Sox Offense (Video)
The Arizona Diamondbacks wanted Scott Podsednik to play in the minor leagues. He wanted to be a big leaguer. The D-Backs released him, and he came back to the Red Sox. Thank goodness he did. Podsednik was the a rare bright spot for the Red Sox on Wednesday, swiping a base and collecting a handful of hits. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep up with the Angels offense and Boston dropped...

Poor Scott Podsednik Can't Hit His Way Onto Any Team; Red Sox Trade, Diamondbacks Release
All Scott Podsednik does is hit. But no one wants him.
You may remember him from Spring Training this year as he and Juan Pierre were battling for the 25th roster spot for an older, lefthanded leftfielder spot. In Spring Training, Podsednik hit .309 and reached base at a .377 clip. That sounds good enough to make a major league team, doesn't it?
Nope. Juan Pierre...

Podsednik glad to be given another shot
Two days after joining the Boston Red Sox, Scott Podsednik was an unlikely savior. How unlikely? Consider this. Podsednik, 36, hadn't played a game in the majors since Sept. 9, 2010, for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He spent last year in the minors in the Toronto Blue Jays' and Philadelphia Phillies' organizations. Podsednik went to camp with the Phillies this year and...
