Indians' Hafner has knee surgery
Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner has undergone surgery on his right knee and could be sidelined six weeks.
The club says the 30-minute operation to clean up frayed cartilage was done Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic.
Hafner was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday. The Indians, however, say he will need at least one month to recover.

Travis Hafner moves up Cleveland’s all-time home run list
With his two run shot in the ninth inning, Travis Hafner passed Rocky Colavito for ninth place on the Indians’ all-time home run list. Hafner now has 191 career homers for the Indians. (He hit one as a member of the Rangers.)
Hafner now has three home runs on the season. He hit 13 in each of the last two seasons.

Indians' Hafner must reach into his past
The 2012 season will be an important one for Travis Hafner, as it could be his last as a member of the Indians.
The 34-year-old designated hitter is entering the last year of a four-year 57 million contract. Hafner will make 13 million in 2012. The Indians hold a 13 million club option for 2013. The buyout on the option year is 2.75 million.
