The Oakland Athletics have optioned right-hander Tyson Ross to Triple-A Sacramento.
The team made the move on Thursday's off-day. Oakland is expected to activate outfielder Yoenis Cespedes on Friday in Kansas City to take Ross' place on the 25-man roster.

Postgame Wrap: I’ll Have Another
I feel like I can’t go a day without describing that day’s Giants game as “weird.” But this game was weird.
For the first 6 innings, this game was vintage 2011, except for the whole getting-on-base part. Tyson Ross looked bad, but the Giants couldn’t do anything with it. By the beginning of the 7th, it looked like Tyson Ross had had a good day, when...

Game Recap 5/14/12: Hatchet job - Athletics 5, Angels 0
I've never fully gotten into the Fire Mickey Hatcher movement, but after this game, I would like to volunteer myself to become President of the Fire Hatcher Committee.
Normally, I would say that while Mickey doesn't appear to be a great coach, the Angels' problems at the plate extend far beyond what any hitting coach is responsibe for. Tonight though, COMPLETELY on...

Box Score: Athletics 5, Indians 1

Justin Masterson did not look sharp for the third straight outing, letting in four runs and walking six in five innings. The Indians got their lone run in the first on a RBI double from Travis Hafner...

Signs Point To Ross Joining A's Rotation
WEST SACRAMENTO - Thanks to an unusual early season schedule, the Oakland A's will go through two turns of their starting rotation before they need a fifth starter. On Tuesday, however, the schedule will finally require Oakland to add a fifth man to the rotation. Sacramento River Cats' right-hander Tyson Ross, at the moment, looks poised to be the one who gets the call.

Ross impressive early in camp
Tyson Ross again finds himself heavily in the mix for a rotation job this year. He's already impressed in the early stages of camp, largely because of sharp command and an improved changeup.
