The Nevada State Athletic Commission has medically suspended nine athletes who competed in Saturday’s “UFC 162: Silva vs. Weidman” event in Las Vegas. Former UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva (pictured) will be forced to ride the pine for 45 days following his knockout loss to Chris Weidman in the show’s featured attraction. If Silva opts to accept a rematch against Weidman, he’ll be able to return by the UFC’s New Year’s Eve weekend card. UFC president Dana White told LA Times’ Lance Pugmire Monday that he was targeting the sequel for their end of 2013 card. If Silva accepts, that card’s current main event between Miesha Tate and bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey would get moved to the UFC’s Super Bowl Saturday show. UFC 162 took place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here is the card’s official IR list: Anderson Silva: Suspended until August 21, with no contact until August 6. Charles Oliveira: Suspended until August 6, with no contact until July 28. Tim Boetsch: Suspended until August 6, with no contact until July 28. Dennis Siver: Suspended until October 5, with no contact until September 5. Kazuki Tokudome – Must have right orbital blowout fracture cleared by a physician, otherwise no contact until January 3. Faces minimum suspension until August 21, with no contact until August 6. Dave Herman: Suspended until August 21, with no contact until August 6. Rafaello Oliveira: Suspended until August 21, with no contact until August 6 for left knee pain. Seth Baczynski: Suspended until August 6, with no contact until July 28 for right eyebrow and nose lacerations. David Mitchell – Must have post-concussion clearance from a sports medicine doctor. Otherwise, minimum suspension until October 5, with no contact until September 5.
