Here we go again, another title shot, another possible usurper. This is why fighters need to look at their employer’s calendar of events and possibly discuss with their bosses, matchmakers, management and team to figure out just what the hell it is that they want to do. Anthony Pettis should’ve simply called up Joe Silva or Dana White, and said: “hey, any Milwaukee shows coming up?” That’s it, problem solved. Now Pettis is looking a little demanding when he’s asking for a title shot that could’ve been his with a little forethought. Hell, it already was his, then he wanted to go to featherweight, so I don’t even know, I really don’t.
Here’s Pettis, telling TJ Grant to step aside “respectfully.”
I can be 100 percent ready to fight Benson Henderson in Milwaukee. With all due respect to T.J. Grant, Milwaukee is my town, and the fight with Ben is the fight everyone has wanted for years.”
If that’s the fight everyone wanted for years, why didn’t you care about that 5 months ago?
