What a difference several hours and a visit to the doctor can make. Although Cung Le left the Octagon with a bloodied and battered face on Saturday night at UFC 139, where his nose appeared to go in several different directions, the former Strikeforce middleweight champ posted a picture of his face Sunday morning and it seems his mug has mended nicely.
“Here is a picture of my face you wanted to see. I felt great till I got caught,” Le tweeted.
Despite rocking Wanderlei Silva early and often, Le wasn’t able to finish off the Brazilian and ended up eating several bombs that cost him a win in his big league debut. When the dust settled on their 185-pound showdown, “The Axe Murderer” would up leaving the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California with a 2ndRound knockout victory.
While some felt the stoppage could have been a tad premature, UFC president Dana White professed at the post-fight press conference that Le’s jacked up grill warranted the conclusion of their shootout.
Le did not attend the presser, however Silva did and was all smiles.
