According to Tatame.com, Gabriel Gonzaga and UFC newcomer Geronimo “Mondragon” dos Santos will meet at UFC 153.
Gonzaga made a successful return to the UFC at UFC 142, submitting Ednaldo Oliveira by first-round rear-naked choke. After an October 2010 loss to Brendan Schaub, Gonzaga announced his retirement from MMA. However his retirement lasted less than a year when he returned in October 2011 and defeated Parker Porter by submission in the Reality Fighting promotion.
“Mondragon” will make his UFC debut on the heels of a ten-fight winning streak. A veteran of 45 fights, dos Santos has 31 wins with 20 coming by KO or TKO and 9 by submission.
UFC 153 takes place October 13th at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is headlined by a UFC featherweight title bout between champion Jose Aldo and Erik Koch.
