PLAYERS: Gegard Mousasi
Gegard Mousasi most recently defeated late replacement Ilir Latifi in Sweden and after the fight revealed that he had suffered a knee injury while training that would most likely require surgery.  His manager spoke to the media and said that Gegard would not be able to compete for another six months due to the injury.  He would not say what the injury was or if he had already had surgery.  Gegard has teased about making a drop down to middleweight if given the right match up so it will be interesting to see which weight class he fights at upon his return.  I think a move down to 185 lbs would be much more suitable for his frame and give him the best possibility for success.  Thanks to MMA Fighting for the scope. Gegard Mousasi Says Will Move Down To Middleweight If Gets Top Five Opponent

Ariel Helwani reported on UFC Tonight that former Strikeforce light heavyweight champ Gegard Mousasi is willing to move down to middleweight if he is given a top five opponent.  Mousasi is a very undersized light heavyweight and a move to a lighter weight class would be ideal for him to compete at the highest level.  Mousasi’s team would not comment however on his knee injury...
