According to the Gambling Gods, the trilogy between Strikeforce lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez (Pictured) and Josh Thomson will look eerily similar to their rematch.
“The Punk” initially took Melendez’s Strikeforce title back in January of 2008, but “El Niño” stormed back to reclaim the strap in their December 2009 sequel.
Melendez checks in as a whopping 5-to-1 odds-on favorite for their May 19th shootout. Thomson, meanwhile, is pegged as a heavy 3.5-to-1 underdog when he enters HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
Showtime will broadcast the main card at 10PM ET/PT.
