Glover Teixeira (pictured) was a heavy 4.5-1 odds-on favorite to dispose of Ryan Bader at UFC Fight Night 28 on Wednesday night. If you dropped money on Teixeira at that lopsided line, you probably had a heart attack when Bader momentarily floored him with a left hook in the opening minutes of their light heavyweight shootout. You probably nearly died when Bader started laying the lumber and Teixeira appeared defenseless with his back against the cage. However, you found new life when Teixeira came firing back with a right-left combination that sent “Darth” to the canvas. After giving Bader the business on the ground, the assault was brought to a halt at the 2:55 mark in the opening stanza. Teixeira’s vicious TKO victory was good enough to not only score him an extra $50,000 for “Knockout of the Night,” but also next dibs at the 205-pound crown. UFC Fight Night 28 took place inside Mineirinho Arena in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Please click the media player below to watch the highlights: foxsports UFC Fight Night Recap: Teixeira/Bader
