Maximum Fighting Championship announced on Friday that they have signed middleweight Jay “Da Spyda Killa” Silva to a multi-fight contract. Silva, a veteran of the UFC and Bellator, is expected to make his debut at MFC 36: Reality Check on February 15th.
MFC President Mark Pavelich stated in the official release, “Jay Silva is a huge talent, and can become an absolute wrecking machine in the Maximum Fighting Championship…The rest of the middleweight division should take notice now because a rejuvenated, reincarnated Jay Silva is coming to the MFC.”
Seven of Silva’s eight career wins have come via stoppage with five victories coming by knockout and two by submission. Silva’s most notable win was a second round technical submission of The Ultimate Fighter 3 winner Kendall “Da Spyder” Grove this past February.
MFC 36: Reality Check will go down from the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The main card will be televised live on AXS TV.
