Jorge Santiago is once again back in the UFC. An training injury forced TUF veteran Justin Edwards out of his scheduled fight and opened up a spot for the returning welterweight to meet Icelandic rising star Gunnar Nelson. The UFC announced the replacement earlier today on UFC.com.
Santiago returned for a second stint in the UFC back at UFC 130 when he was knocked out by Brian Stann and followed that up with a unanimous decision loss to Demian Maia which ultimately led to his release from the company. He went on to finish two consecutive opponents in Titan FC and earned himself a spot against rising star Gunnar Nelson. Santiago will be looking for his second win in six UFC outings and will be hungry to prove his worth to the organization.
