After almost a year away from the cage, Alistair Overeem has officially applied for licensure in the State of Nevada. He is already scheduled to meet Antonio Silva in early February at UFC 156 but will have to meet in front of the commission to determine if he will be licensed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) Executive Director Keith Kizer emailed TheFlyingKneeMMA earlier today confirming Overeem’s application as well as the hearing date, which is set for January 8th. Overeem was suspended for nine months after his UFC debut against Brock Lesnar for elevated testosterone levels. Follow Karim Zidan (@TheFlyingKneeTO) for all the latest MMA news and updates.
