The Flying Knee MMA:
The injury bug has claimed yet another victim as heavyweight Alistair Overeem has been forced out of his UFC 160 co-main event bout with Junior dos Santos after suffering an undisclosed injury. MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani broke the news on Wednesday night.
Overeem proved to be the biggest disappointment at UFC 156, suffering a third round KO loss to Silva after dominating the fight for the first two rounds. The loss removed him from a highly anticipated match-up with Velasquez and placed him in another match-up against former champ Junior dos Santos. Now the Dutch striker suffers yet another setback as he will be out of action for an extended period of time.
The UFC is yet to announce a replacement for dos Santos but fans have already voiced their desire to see Mark Hunt in the match-up.
UFC 160 takes place May 25, 2013 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sources close to Alistair Overeem revealed about two hours ago that the heavyweight has suffered an undisclosed injury that will keep him out of training for 4-5 weeks, and thus, he is out of his UFC 160 fight against Junior dos Santos. Damn it. What could’ve been the biggest heavyweight fight that didn’t involve a belt is out the window. Apparently, Overeem is good to go against...
