If Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (Pictured) ignoring the media to play video games on his Playstation Vita throughout Thursday’s “UFC on FOX: Johnson vs. Dodson” pre-fight press conference wasn’t a telltale sign he’s done with the UFC, then I don’t know what is. According to UFC president Dana White, his disgruntled soon-to-be former employee has been more than generously compensated during his five-year tenure with the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion and he’s merely committing acts of professional suicide to spite himself. “From 2007 to 2012, and he took a year off to film ['The A-Team'] movie, he made $15.2 million,” White revealed following yesterday’s presser. “This is one of those cases where everybody always thinks the grass is greener on the other side, and you get to the other side and you’re like, ‘[expletive], this isn’t what I thought it was going to be.’” The only thing is, Rampage has competed for 10 different MMA organizations over the course of his 14-year career. So if anybody knows what color lawns are available, it should be the 34-year-old. He’s fought 11 times inside the Octagon, so based off White’s figure, Rampage earned an average of $1.38 million per fight. Are his peers pocketing that kind of cash in other MMA promotions? Probably not. Furthermore, only four of Rampage’s scraps in the UFC were of the pay-per-view championship variety. “If you’re going to go out and you want to say all this stuff about the UFC, we know what we are, we know what we do, we know what you’ve been paid,” White added. “OK, you made $15.2 [million], but you wanted $100 [million]. It’s always going to be the case, but to come up here and treat the media the way he did, it’s just professional suicide. “Plus, put on top of this, Rampage made that much money – he won the title, defended it once, then lost it. It’s not like he went on a Georges St-Pierre/Anderson Silva-type run. So he’s done pretty damn well.” While White has left the door open to possibly re-signing the impending free agent, Rampage has been adamant that Saturday’s shootout with Glover Teixeira will mark his final UFC foray. Rampage owns a 32-10 professional record. He has gone 7-4 under the UFC’s watch, but has dropped his past two bouts.
