Found February 24, 2013 on Busted Coverage: Ronda Rousey beat Liz Carmouche with an armbar in the first round at UFC 157 to retain the UFC women’s bantamweight title in Anaheim, Calif. on Saturday night. The historic match was the first-ever UFC women’s bout. After Carmouche slapped an early choke hold on Rousey, the former Olympian broke free. Once Rousey got in position and cinched in the armbar, the show was over. She was able to make Carmouche submit with 11 seconds left in the first round. See the GIF below: A bronze medalist in judo at the Beijing Olympics, Rousey has been heralded as a potential audience-attracting star for UFC. A former U.S. Marine, Carmouche is a solid fighter, but she couldn’t last more than a round. A few guys on Twitter thought Rousey slipped a nipple during the fight. It looks like it was just wishful thinking (see below). We’ll let you know if we find anything more substantial. [H/T:@ZProphet_MMA] Filed under: Combat Sports
