A pair of bouts have been added to the UFC on FOX 6 fight card on January 26th. UFC officials announced that verbal agreements are in place for Ryan Bader to face Vladimir Matyushenko in a light heavyweight contest while David Mitchell will square off against Simeon Thoresen in a welterweight match. Bader (14-3) saw his two fight winning streak come to an end in a crushing knockout loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC on FOX 4. Bader has notched notable wins over Keith Jardine, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Matyushenko (26-6), a 15-year MMA veteran, will be looking to bounce back from a technical knockout to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 141. Prior to the loss Matyushenko had won five of his previous six fights. Mitchell (11-2) will be looking for his first win in the UFC after consecutive decision losses to T.J. Waldburger and Paulo Thiago. Norway’s Thoresen (17-3-1) has split his two bouts in the UFC having submitted Besam Yousef then most recently suffering a knockout to Seth Baczynski. It could be an interesting ground battle as Mitchell has submitted nine of his opponents while Thoresen holds 15 wins by submission. UFC on FOX 6, which takes place from the United Center in Chicago, features flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson defending his title against John Dodson. UFC on FOX 6 adds Bader vs. Matyushenko, Mitchell vs. Thoresen is a post from: MMA Interplay UFC News
