Mr. UFC on FOX himself Benson Henderson will attempt to make the 3rd successful defense of his lightweight championship in Strikeforce country.  The HP Pavilion in San Jose was a home to Strikeforce fighters for many years. The promotions longest reigning and final lightweight champion Gilbert "El Nino" Melendez held a 7-1 record in San Jose, where he won the belt, lost it, won it again, and defended four more times for good measure. Before these two champions meet on April 20th to forever unify the UFC and Strikeforce 155 lb. division titles they will be preceded by a couple more high profile UFC vs. Strikeforce quarrels.  Check out the current UFC on FOX 7: Henderson vs. Melendez fight card as it stands today below: Main Card (FOX) • Lightweight Title Bout: Benson Henderson (C) (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) vs. Gilbert Melendez (21-2 MMA, UFC Debut) • Heavyweight Bout: Frank Mir (16-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC) vs. Daniel Cormier (11-0 MMA, UFC Debut) • Lightweight Bout: Nate Diaz (16-8 MMA, 7-6 UFC) vs. Josh Thomson (19-5 MMA, 2-1 UFC) • Welterweight Bout: Dan Hardy (25-10 MMA, 6-4 UFC) vs. Matt Brown (16-11 MMA, 9-5 UFC)    • Clifford Starks (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) vs. Yoel Romero (4-1 MMA, UFC Debut) Tickets for this event go on-sale next Wednesday February 13th at 10 a.m. eastern time for UFC Fight club members. The following day UFC newsletter subscribers will have their pick of the litter and 24 hours later they'll be up for grabs for the general public. You guys know the drill by now.
