Stefan Struve was more than a 2-to-1 odds-on favorite to beat veteran Mark Hunt (pictured) on Saturday night. A win would have propelled “Skyscraper” into the upper echelon of the UFC heavyweight division.
For some peculiar reason, Struve didn’t want to use his significant reach advantage by executing jabs and kicks. Instead, the 25-year-old decided to block Hunt’s fists with his face and left Japan with a TKO loss and broken jaw for his troubles.
Hunt put the youngster down at 1:44 in the final round.
UFC on FUEL TV 8 took place inside Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

It looked good on paper. Never judge a book by its cover. Insert another predictable idiom here. After Hyun Gyu Lim made his presence felt it turned out to be a pretty disappointing night in terms of violence. 8 straight decisions ;ater it was up to the big boys to close things out with a bang. Saying they did just fine. would be an understatement. This was one of the exciting closes...
