As the old adage goes, “Time heals all wounds.” According to UFC president Dana White, it took about six days for the gash below Alexander Gustafsson’s left eyebrow to completely heal. “This pic was taken of Gustafsson today and u can’t even see the cut!!! Worst decision I have EVER seen to pull fight,” White tweeted with the above picture Wednesday. Gustafsson posted a much more gruesome image of the cut he suffered after last Thursday’s wrestling practice earlier this morning on is official website. Time has clearly served the 26-year-old well. Because of the freshness and location of the laceration, the Swedish Mixed Martial Arts Federation refused to clear Gustafsson to fight Gegard Mousasi this Saturday after conducting Tuesday’s examination. However, the most interesting part of the committee’s press release read, “bearing in mind that a correct medical examination that met the regulatory demands has been performed, nothing in the SMMAF regulations hinders the SMMAF Medical Committee from making a decision to stop Gustafsson from competing.” That technically means the UFC and Gustafsson could have determined whether Saturday’s main event against Mousasi would still be kept. If that’s the case, I’m curious to know who White is upset with. The UFC would have preferred to keep “The Mauler” in the matchup for obvious reasons, but it’s highly likely they erred on the side of caution after receiving the SMMAF’s unfavorable verdict. Mousasi now headlines UFC on FUEL TV 9 against little known Ilir Latifi.

Ilir Latifi replaces Gustafsson at UFC on FUEL TV 9

UFC president Dana White announced today that Alexander Gustafsson teammate, Ilir Latifi will replace him this weekend at in a light heavyweight bout against Gegard Mousasi at UFC on FUEL TV 9.   Gustafsson suffered a cut during training that caused him to be pulled from the card. Officials have not given a timetable as [...]

What could Jamaican middleweight Uriah Hall possibly do for an encore following the deadliest KO in TUF history? How about record what is now being called "the scariest KO in TUF history." Ronda Rousey Submits Uriah Hall … Twice (Video)

You don’t mess with the armbar queen. Just ask any of UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey’s (pictured) previous seven victims or most recently, “The Ultimate Fighter 17″ star Uriah Hall. Hall, who UFC president Dana White has dubbed as the most dangerous contestant to ever compete in the long-running reality show and this season’s odds-on favorite, grappled with Rousey...
