When Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal entered the Bellator light heavyweight Season 8 bracket nearly everyone had him penciled in for a spot in the finals. Emanuel "The Hardcore Kid" Newton's bracket read a little different.
After putting Przemyslaw Mysiala asleep last month in Thackerville, Louisiana, it was off to the Maverik Center in Utah for the new face of Bellator. Lawal would enter the fight as a -850 favorite, and a win would put him in the light heavyweight finals against Mikhail Zayats for a shot at $100K and the belt. Instead the crossover superstar's plans would be derailed by a man who hadn't knocked out anyone since 2006. Apparently Mo didn't learn anything from the Alistair Overeem vs. Bigfoot Silva upset earlier this month. My advice to King Mo, and anyone who isn't Anderson Silva for that matter- keep your hands up when you get into a fist fight.
