Team: No. 99 Subway Ford Fusion Crew Chief: Jimmy Fennig Chassis: RK- 821 last ran at fall Texas | RK – 831 new chassis – brought to Las Vegas as backup Edwards at Fontana: In 15 starts at the two-mile California track, Edwards has one win, one pole, seven top-five and 12 top-10 finishes. His average start is 18.5, and his average finish is 8.7 which is the second best among active drivers. Edwards has completed 3518 of 3534 (99.5%) of laps attempted at Auto Club Speedway. In the Loop: According to NASCAR’s Loop Statistics compiled over the last 14 races at Fontana, Edwards has turned 153 of the track’s fastest laps (sixth best), spent 2343 laps in the top 15 and led a total of 121 laps. Edwards’ driver rating is sixth best among active drivers. The Car: The 99 crew will roll out RK-821 which last ran at Texas Motor Speedway in the Fall and finished 4th. Primary Sponsor Note: Subway returns to the spotlight for the first time since the victory in Phoenix. This will be the second of Subway’s six paint schemes for the 2013 season. Edwards quotes on the Auto Club 400: “Auto Club Speedway is one of the most fun race tracks that we go to on the circuit. The speeds are extremely high and the surface has a lot of character. The cars move around a lot, they slide around the corners and you can race 3 or 4 wide. It’s just a race track with a lot of characteristics and that makes it fun to drive on. We have had a lot of success there and I am really excited to see how the new Subway Ford Fusion races there at such high speeds. It will be a little bit different than Las Vegas, because the banking is lower and the speeds are slightly higher,” said Edwards. “We didn’t have the run we wanted last week, but other than that we have had an unbelievable start of the year and I am determined to get victory number two,” Edwards continued. “We want to be the first team to get two victories this year and this will be a really good race for us to do it.”
