Danica Patrick is definitely the most well known 27th placed racecar driver you’ll ever find. Last year, her first doing the top flight of NASCAR, saw her finish pretty consistent. Sprint Cup standings, average finish, mean, median and mode of placing…all in the 26-27 range for Danica Patrick. So tonight’s finish at Texas was right in her wheelhouse.
Danica Patrick started 24th and early on dealt with a car that was tough to handle. Throughout the race, crew chief Tony Gibson made a series of changes – adjusting track bar, wedge, tire pressure and shocks and removing a spring rubber in the left-rear spring –to help improve the handling of the racecar.
The changes made the car better throughout the afternoon, but Danica Patrick fell two laps behind the leaders. She’s now 29th in the current points standings.
