Third Nationwide Series Stand-alone of 2013 season… Not only does this weekend’s STP 300 at Chicagoland Speedway mark the third of six stand-alone events for the NASCAR Nationwide Series, it also marks Eric McClure’s 217th-career NNS event and his ninth at the 1.5-mile D-shaped tri-oval. In eight starts, the Virginia driver has completed 89.9% of the total laps completed (1604) and has an average finish of 28.1. McClure has only encountered one DNF at the track and that was during his first full-time season as a NNS driver in 2007. The driver’s best finish of 18th came two years ago in his first season with TriStar Motorsports; last year, the driver posted finishes of 24th and 25th at the Chicagoland Speedway. Chassis No.12 …In Sunday’s STP 300, the 34-year-old driver will pilot chassis No. 12 out of the TriStar Motorsports stable. This chassis was last used at Kentucky Speedway where McClure posted a 23rd-place finish in the rain-shortened event. Team Slips One Position in Owner Standings/McClure Remains 17th in Driver Standings…After holding steady for the past three weeks in the Nationwide Series Owner Standings, McClure and the TriStar Motorsports team slipped one position to 24th following last weekend’s 31st-place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. McClure, however, remains 17th in the driver standings. Tune-In… Sunday’s race from Chicagoland Speedway will be televised live on EPSN beginning at 2:30 p.m. (ET). MRN (Motor Racing Network) and SiriusXM Radio Channel 90 will also broadcast the event live on Sunday, July 21. -Hefty/Reynolds Racing PR
