Last Sunday was a moment of jubilation for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s fanbase, redemption for the driver himself, and a final statement to his detractors that he is indeed back to his dominant ways.
In one race Earnhardt put an end to a four year funk that drug the once championship contender down into the bowels of the point standings for a couple of seasons (2009, 2010). Following the celebration of his 19th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win, the difference in his body language was incredible. He stood taller, walked with a bit more swagger, and you couldn’t wipe the smile from his face.
