Jimmie Johnson shows that experience can beat a rookie anytime. He claimed his second Daytona 500 as he passed Patrick on the last lap of the race. Danica had a record-setting day on the race track. She was the first women to ever finish the race. She was the first women to ever lead a lap under the green flag and she was the first women to ever start the Daytona 500 from the pole position. Jimmie Johnson drove a smart race and kept his car out of trouble all day long. Patrick who was in 3rd place when the white flag fell, dropped all the way back to an 8th place finish. Again she set a record for being the first women to ever finish at Daytona in the top ten. Patrick couldn’t make a move to drop low on the last lap. Johnson and his freight train went sailing right by the Go Daddy Chevrolet.  Veteran drive Mark Martin had a chance to win the race too. He finished the race in 3rd place. Dale Jr. finished the race in 2nd and fan favorite Jeff Gordon came in 20th place. Hendrick Motorsports  had a great day at Daytona claiming the top two places in the 55th running of the Daytona 500.
