Last season he was all set to debut at O’Reilly Raceway Park, but then a vicious crash the night before in the X-Games set his debut back quite a bit with broken bones in his leg. This weekend however it was finally go time for Pastrana, but his debut — a 22nd-place finish, two laps off the pace – wasn’t the most impressive debut of the weekend. Ryan Blaney far and away surpassed what Pastrana accomplished in his first NASCAR race, and Blaney did it with little fan-fare and even smaller recognition from the media.
