PLAYERS: Danica Patrick
Danica Patrick got some bad news Saturday morning at Charlotte Motor Speedway, when her No. 10 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet SS developed a massive oil leak halfway through the first of two NASCAR Sprint Cup practice sessions for Sunday's Coca-Cola 600. On Thursday night, Patrick qualified 24th, one position ahead of her boss, Tony Stewart. Only twice in the first 11 races this year had Patrick had better qualifying results -- she won the pole for the season-opening Daytona 500 and qualified 23rd at Talladega Superspeedway. Unfortunately for Patrick, her qualifying effort won't pay off on Sunday. Per NASCAR rules, changing the engine after qualifying means she will start the Coca-Cola 600 at the back of the 43-car field.

Patrick: Another Indy 500 'less and less likely'

Danica Patrick still follows the Indianapolis 500 closely, even pre-organizing her race day schedule this Sunday so she can watch most of the event. As for participating in the race again, that's a different story. Patrick, who first earned her popularity in open-wheel racing, said her focus is on the Sprint Cup series and the chances of her running at the Indy 500 become ...

Danica proud of past Indy efforts

Danica Patrick made a somewhat difficult decision at a crossroads. She took the NASCAR route. That leaves a big gap every year at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where she wrote some significant history, becoming the first woman to lead the Indy 500 in 2005 and, in 2009, becoming the highest-finishing woman -- at third -- in the race. The Patrick name bounced around the sweeping grandstands...

Boyfriend Wrecks Danica Patrick’s Car Into NASCAR Foe Brad Keselowski During Coca-Cola 600 (Video)

Danica Patrick and Brad Keselowski, who have exchanged their share of chippiness on and off the track during the Sprint Cup series, collided with each other during Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600, sending both drivers’ cars from the course. But the far more interesting point is not that Patrick bumped Keselowski, who absolved her of blame after the race and did not bring up previous hard...

Zipadelli: Team is behind on tech

Greg Zipadelli, the competition director at Stewart-Haas Racing and longtime confidante of Tony Stewart, said the team has fallen behind on technology relative to the top NASCAR Sprint Cup teams. Zipadelli said the combination of adding a third car for Danica Patrick, converting to the new Generation-6 cars and shuffling personnel internally has left SHR well behind top teams like...

The Fan Vote Winner Is?

Photo Credit: DanicaRacing The fans spoke loud and clear according to Miss Sprint Cup last Saturday and voted Rookie Danica Patrick into the Sprint All-Star Race. Patrick attempted to race her way in to the Sprint All-Star Race via the Sprint Showdown but came up short when she finished 9th to race winner Jamie McMurray and runner up Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Although the fan vote winner...

Stewart-Haas Racing Continues to Battle Despite Struggles

Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) has had a very disappointing start to the 2013 season. Their drivers Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, and Danica Patrick all sit 17th, 21st, and 28th in points respectfully. With no wins so far, it has left many asking what is going on? The SHR and Hendrick Motorsports organizations work together as Hendrick provides them with chassis, engines, and technical support...

Danica wrecked by BF Stenhouse

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wasn't going to allow Danica Patrick to come between him and Brad Keselowski on Sunday night. Unfortunately, Patrick, his girlfriend, and Keselowski received the worst of it as Stenhouse took his fellow drivers three-wide on the Lap 319 restart in the Coca-Cola 600. Stenhouse bumped off of Patrick and sent her spinning into Keselowski's rear quarter...

Danica Patrick forced to start in back of field at Coca-Cola 600

Danica Patrick didn’t like her chances in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 before the weekend, and now she will be starting in the back of the pack. On Thursday night, Patrick qualified 24th, one position better than her boss, Tony Stewart.   Unfortunately for Patrick, her No. 10
