This weekend’s UNOH 200 will mark the 14th NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event at BMS. In 12 previous starts, Hornaday is the only active NCWTS driver that has been to victory lane in the “Thunder Valley” (1997, 1998)

Three drivers have won at Bristol and gone on to win the championship including Hornaday in 1998

Terry “Richie” Snyder will continue to call the shots for Hornaday at BMS

Flashback…The 2011 O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 at BMS was a strong one for Joe Denette Motorsports (JDM). The rookie team had two entries for the event; the No. 23 of Jason White and the No. 24 of Elliott Sadler. Sadler, making his first start with JDM, captured the team’s first Keystone Light Pole Award and both entries combined to lead 91 of 200 laps.

Thunder Valley Stats…In 12 previous starts at BMS, Hornaday has led 388 laps en route to two wins from the pole.. Additionally, Hornaday has four top-five and seven top-10 finishes including an average start of 10.4, coupled with an average finish of 11.5 and has completed 98.8 percent of the laps he’s attempted (2337 of 2365).

Welcome Aboard…JDM would like to welcome loyal sponsor Anderson’s Pure Maple Syrup back onboard Hornaday’s No. 9 Chevrolet as primary sponsor for this weekend’s UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway.  JDM would also like to welcome first-time associate sponsor Arthur Krenzel Lett (AKL) Insurance Group, a risk management solutions firm specializing in auto, home, life, and commercial insurance products, for their first of three races in the NCWTS with Hornaday. In The Loop… According to NASCAR’s loop data statistics, Hornaday has the following stats at BMS:

* A driver rating of 85.9, ranking him 12th overall and seventh among active NCWTS drivers

* Ranked fourth among fastest laps run with 35, second among active NCWTS drivers

* Ranked fourth among laps in the top-15 with 926, second among active NCWTS drivers

* Ranked fourth among green flag passes with 138

This Week’s No. 9 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet… Hornaday will pilot “JDM11″ from the JDM stables in Wednesday night’s UNOH 200 at BMS. Built new for the 2012 season, this chassis will make its debut in the Volunteer State for the 13th event on the 2012 NCWTS schedule.

Get to the Point… Following a hard-fought 17th-place finish at Michigan International Speedway, Hornaday is down one position to ninth in the 2012 NCWTS driver point standings heading into this weekend’s NCWTS event, just 38 points out of fifth and 63 points behind leader, Timothy Peters.

Ron Hornaday, Jr. on Bristol: “It will be nice to get back to Bristol Motor Speedway, a track I’ve had success at in the past. The last four races have been at tracks that I’ve never won at and getting back to a place like Bristol will be refreshing. We have gone through some changes in the last few weeks at Joe Denette Motorsports and I finally feel like this team is headed in the right direction. We found some things in our trucks in the last couple weeks and I feel like I finally have the trucks where I can drive them. Everyone on the team including myself has confidence heading into this week’s race. Our short-track program has been strong this season and I like the package we are taking to Bristol. Obviously, it would be huge to get Joe his first win as an owner at what he considers his favorite track and this young team as a whole would benefit from a win. There are a few tracks left on the schedule I’m confident we will contend for wins at and Bristol is one of them. If we can do it there, it will most definitely help us capitalize on momentum for the back-half of the season.”

Tune In…The NCWTS will have two practice sessions Wednesday, August 22 at 10:00 a.m. ET and 12:00 p.m. ET. Qualifying for the 13th event of the 2012 season is scheduled for Wednesday, August 22 live on SPEED at 4:35 p.m. ET and the UNOH 200 from BMS is slated to start at 7:30 p.m. ET live on SPEED.
