CONCORD, N.C. – Shell-Pennzoil Dodge driver AJ Allmendinger finished 33rd in tonight’s Coca-Cola 600 here at Charlotte Motor Speedway after braking system problems relegated him to the garage for lengthy repairs. Allmendinger to start on pole at Kansas
AJ Allmendinger will be on the pole for the second time in his Sprint Cup career after turning the fastest qualifying lap for Sunday's race at Kansas Speedway.
Allmendinger posted a lap of 175.993 mph in his Penske Racing Dodge to claim the top spot ahead of Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano, who had led the fastest times most of the day.
