It's no coincidence that once Rajon Rondo got it going this season, so did the Celtics. Rondo kept the momentum going, netting his first career triple-double, setting a career high for assists (17), and the Celtics made it 10-straight wins, taking out the Pacers 114-96. Rondo wasn't the only star tonight, as Kevin Garnett had, arguably, his best game of the season, with 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks. And, as it always seems to be, Ray Allen quietly had a stellar offensive game, going for 31 points. Paul Pierce, struggling for 9 points through the first three quarters, got it going in the fourth, and ended with 16 points. And let's not forget about Kendrick Perkins' double-double (16 points and 10 rebounds).
The Pacers were down by as many as 24 in this one, but clawed their way back to within 9 early in the fourth quarter. That's when Doc put KG back onto the floor, Pierce finally found his shot, and the KG-Rondo show took over.
With this performance, Rondo has served notice that he is, indeed, All-Star worthy, and has probably been the best point guard in the NBA over the past ten games.
