In case you haven’t heard yet, the Oklahoma City Thunder traded away one of its youngest (and most talented) players this weekend, in NBA Sixth Man of the Year winner, James Harden. And while we typically wouldn’t give a damn about it, over the course of the past year or so, all NBA fans have gotten to love not only his beard, but the trio he and now former teammates Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook developed. Now that the three young stars are no longer, we just couldn’t hold in our rage about OKC getting rid of Harden, and wanted to give the biggest ones with you. Damn you NBA and small market teams! NO-K-C While the Thunder did receive a proven scorer in Kevin Martin, along with rookie Jeremy Lamb, we tend to think that after finishing runner-up in the entire league, they’ve taken a major hit to any title aspirations. We really hope we’re wrong, but when you give up a dynamic, energetic, and proven commodity like Harden for the potential to be good, you’re not nearly as good as you were before.

What A Stat Nerd Says About The James Harden Trade: “Thunder Got Player”

You may be waking up on this chilly Sunday morning, nursing a hangover from a Halloween party from last night, and realized James Harden has been traded to the Houston Rockets. You might be asking yourself “WTF” because that was the echoed sentiments across the interwebs last night, and some feel the Thunder may a [...]The post What A Stat Nerd Says About The James Harden Trade...

Small-market reality hits OKC with Harden deal

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The first big dose of small-market reality has hit the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before the Thunder even played their first real game following a trip to the NBA finals, the franchise parted ways with Sixth Man of the Year James Harden in a trade with the Houston Rockets, fracturing the team's core and substantially changing the second unit. "We made...

Oklahoma City Thunder send James Harden to Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder have traded away a huge piece of their young core as they sent shooting guard James Harden to the Houston Rockets. Thunder trade James Harden to Rockets in nine-player deal

After coming so close in last season's NBA Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder aren't ready to start the new season by merely maintaining the status quo. That's why it's not all that surprising that, in an attempt to make an already strong returning team even stronger, the Thunder pulled off a nine-player deal late Saturday with the Houston Rockets, multiple sources...

Thunder Fans Are Over James Harden Already

Okay, Oklahoma City Thunder fans, step back from the lighter fluid. Seriously, you’re acting a little foolish. Look, as a fan of a team that just traded its star player away, I certainly understand that you’re pretty broken up over the Thunder trading away Kevin Durant yesterday. Wait no, not Durant. My bad, I meant Russell Westbrook. Wait, no. It wasn’t Westbrook either. It...

James Harden Traded to Rockets, who wins?

So last night the Western Conference Champion Oklahoma City Thunder traded Sixth Man of the Year, and fan favorite James Harden to the Houston Rockets for Kevin Martin, rookie Jeremy Lamb and draft picks.  Rumor has it that this all escalated VERY quickly after Harden turned down a 4 year $52-53 mil offer, because Harden wanted a 5 year max deal. While we can spend days discussing...

OKC Thunder & guard Eric Maynor put extension talks on hold until July 2013

The Thunder have another player that there were in the process of working on an extension with, Point guard Eric Maynor. Maynor is obviously going to have an expanded role with the departure of James Harden. It was one he was starting to become comfortable with before a knee injury sidelined him last season. The [...]

Something I may have foreshadowed earlier to Serge Ibaka on twitter today, has come a reality on Saturday evening, when James Harden and Oklahoma City Thunder couldn’t agree on an extension it equated the Thunder to move fast. Per Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN, the Thunder traded James Harden, Daequan Cook, Lazar Hayward and Cole Aldrich [...]The post Sucky Saturday: OKC Thunder...
