The San Antonio Spurs (1-0) will face the Oklahoma City Thunder (0-0) tonight in San Antonio for the Spurs home-opener. The Spurs are coming off a narrow 99-95 win over New Orleans last night thanks to huge efforts from Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. But tonight's game will be a rematch of last season's Western Conference Finals where the Thunder rattled off four games in a row after the Spurs were up 2-0, to win and advance to the NBA Finals. So as the Spurs will look for a measure of revenge, here are five things to watch for in tonight's contest: • The Thunder will look for its fourth consecutive opening night win after beating the Magic, Bulls, and Kings in each of the last three season openers. • Last season, OKC not only led the NBA in blocked shots at 8.17 but the Thunder recorded the highest block per game total in the NBA in nearly 20 years. • The Thunder went 16-0 when holding teams to under 90 points last season. • Last season, OKC was only one of three teams (Chicago and San Antonio) to have a winning road record in the NBA at 21-12. • For a second season in a row, Oklahoma City finished the 2011-12 season as the best free throw shooting team in the NBA at 80.6%. Kevin Durant is also the only player in NBA history to convert 700+ free throws while shooting 90% or better. (image: woai.com)
