ATLANTA - The Pacers have a heck of a lineup. That would be a heck of an injured lineup. The Pacers aren't getting off on the right foot, knee, toe, back or shin this season. They have their own starting five of injured players. Danny Granger is the latest Pacer to join the list of the walking wounded. The Pacers All-Star is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's season opener at Atlanta. Hopefully you guys were able to see one or two Pacers preseason games. Here's a look at how I see the Eastern Conference shaking out this season. 1. Boston 2. Orlando 3. Cleveland 4. Washington 5. Atlanta 6. Toronto 7. Miami 8. Chicago 9. Detroit 10. Pacers 11. Philadelphia 12. Knicks 13. Charlotte 14. Milwaukee 15. New Jersey I have the Pacers missing the playoffs for the fourth straight season because they have too many "if" scenarios surrounding them . I think they can make the playoffs "if" all this happens. --Mike Dunleavy plays at least 60 games --Th...

An early message sent to Ford and Rush

ATLANTA - Yeah, we can say the Pacers played a legitimate playoff team in their season opener. That's letting them off the hook too easily, though. That was a woeful defensive performance against the Hawks. Defense was optional in the game. Taking care of the ball was, too, because the Pacers turned it over 25 times. We'll have plenty of time to talk about the defense...

They've brought in "good guys," some of whom also are good defenders. The next step is to return to the playoffs, a tournament they haven't participated in since 2006. Will that happen this season? It will...
