Hoop Heads North:
We at Hoop Heads North love to let the Canadian side of the game shine whenever possible, so we'd be remiss not to showcase, the Miami Heat's shot blocker extraordinaire, Runnin' Rebel, and Montreal, Quebec, Canada native, Joel Anthony. By the way, it's pronounced JO-EL!
With Toronto, Ontario native and Kentucky Wildcat Jamaal Magloire also on Miami's roster, I'm thinking we might get a chance to see some Heat players doing charity events or making other event appearances throughout Canada in the future.
Sun Sports feature on Joel:
Joel's 'Dirty Work' highlight reel over Ludacris' track 'Act The Fool' ***(due to the unedited version of the song played, this video is not suitable for work OR around children)***:

First Full Game
Tonight i played my first full game in the NBA, we played the Miami Heat. All i can say is that we came out wiith a victory. So that was a big thing for me having us win my first game back. I wouldnt say i had the best contribution on the floor, i didnt play, score, or rebound that much. I only played like 16 minutes with 3 points and 2 rebounds, not a good individual game....

D. Wade juego para el Heat
If you live in Miami, or any surrounding area, you should know some Spanish. Here at The Sports Culture, we’re about diversity.
Spanish lesson of the day: Heat = Calor
As in, El Calor.
Check out Dwyane Wade’s jersey in this video clip. He’s wearing an “El Heat” jersey. Ay carumba! El Calor, pues!
Shabbat Shalom: Friday Wrap-Up
If you missed my interview with Leigh Steinberg, I suggest you check it out. I am no longer a 1L! For those of you non-legal people, that means that I made it through the toughest year of law school. Hopefully, it will be all smooth sailing from here. I am back home in South Florida, where I will be working on Dynasty for the rest of this summer (minus a short trip to Israel from...
Shaq disses former Teamates
OHHHHHHH NAAAAH HELLLLLLL NAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SHaq dissed former teamates and staff of the Miami Heat.
This guy is one of the most selfish people I've ever seen in my life.
To think that I had respect for this man to even stand up for him everytime his was critized.
Shaq should be happy for everything we did for him we took him for the worst team in the league...
Tribute to Don Haskins
Don Haskins won 719 games in 38 seasons at UTEP (formerly Texas Western) and coached the team all the way through 1999. Haskins was not known for winning all or even most of those games, he was known for winning the 1966 National Championship against Adolph Rupp's Kentucky team 72-65. The game was a true stepping stone for college basketball and sports in general. Haskins Texas...
Shawn Marion is Magic: Can be in two places at one time!
A lot of interesting stuff took place in Philips Arena on Saturday night as not only an NBA game took place but there was an NBA doubleheader: Pat Riley fell to 0-4 in doubleheaders, Shawn Marion technically played and lost for two different teams on the same day, and the Miami Heat are still really ...
Miami Trading No.2 pick!!
It's looking clearer and clearer that the Bulls will be taking Derrick Rose with the No. 1 pick, so much of the attention in the draft is turning to the Miami Heat, who are slated to select second.
Michael Beasley is the obvious choice at No. 2, but the Heat's words and actions behind the scenes continue to point to a possible trade if Rose goes No. 1.

Pat Riley Bends Over During Game
Ok, let's be honest here: does anyone in the entire basketball-watching specie legitimately think that the Miami Heat Oregon State Beavers Miami Heat can actually get past the Elite Eight, let alone the Sweet Sixteen?
If your answer is 'No', I applaud your soberness.

Jackson’s Treys Lead Hornets Past Heat
Bobby Jackson made a career-high seven 3-pointers and finished with 25 points, helping the Hornets roll to a 114-88 victory over the hapless Miami Heat on Friday night.
D-Wade Shuts It Down For All The Wrong Reasons
Looks like the Miami Heat are taking after Bill Belichick when it comes to enduring a tough loss - they’re leaving early.
Coach Pat Riley recently announced that he’ll leave the team to begin scouting talent for the NBA Draft. And today the Heat let it be known that Dywane Wade is taking...
DWYANE WADE IS A GOOD BASKETBALL PLAYER
We’re a little late getting to this, but in case you missed it — and seeing as how it’s the NBA, you probably did — here’s Dwyane Wade’s ridiculous steal and buzzer-beater to sink the Bulls in double-overtime (this was after he hit a game-tying three to send ...

Not quite time for crystal balling.
I am really excited for the Miami Heat. They have been playing really well in the NBA Playoffs and it appears that they have the competitive edge to win this series against the New Jersey Nets. Is it possible that we could go all the way to the NBA Finals? I'll check back when we are in the Eastern Conference Finals. Then it will be time for predictions.
