Varejao
Signing Pavlovic and Varejao is important, but only at the right price for the Cavs. You can't mortgage the entire future of your organization on guys who could end up being little more than NBA role players.
2 Comments:
  • Pavlovic for 25 million is fine. Varejao is a terrific player who every team would love to have, but 65 million might be a little steep for a high energy rebounding and defense kind of guy.
  • $25 million sounds OK to me too, but not if Pavlovic ends up being a bench player. This is the price of having a guy like LeBron on your roster. He makes the players around him look so good that they have inflated values. Same thing goes in Phoenix with Steve Nash. Guys around them end up maximizing their value, but it is fool's gold when they leave for another team.
