The Celtics are apparently at the end of their rope with Gabe Pruitt: (http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/celtics/articles/2009/07/29/guard_gabe_pruitts_time_with_celtics_may_be_nearing_an_end/?rss_id=Boston.com+--+Boston+Celtics+news)An NBA source confirmed yesterday the Celtics are attempting to trade Pruitt, whose option deadline is Friday. The Celtics are leaning toward not picking up Pruitt’s option, which would leave the guard free to sign with another team.Pruitt, 23, was a second-round draft choice in 2007 out of USC. He played in 15 games his rookie year, spending much of the season in the Development League. Last year, Pruitt made a strong impression during the exhibition season but seldom played in the regular season, averaging 2 points and playing only 11 minutes in the playoffs. Pruitt was one of the top point guards in the Orlando Summer Pro League earlier this month.Pruitt is unlikely to be used as part of a sign-and-trade deal involving Indiana guard Marquis Daniels, since the Pacers have three point guards. A three-team trade involving Pruitt also is unlikely, a league source said.I'd still prefer that he'd be given a shot, seeing as there is no real backup PG on the roster.

In memory of Reggie Lewis

16 years ago today, the Boston Celtics' Reggie Lewis died of a heart attack at the age of 27. For those of you who never had the opportunity to see him play, you missed out on a player who was well on his way to being an NBA superstar and Celtic legend. To compare his game to anyone else would be an injustice to him. He was, and still is, my favorite player ever. And as much...

Pruitt’s tenure with Celtics might be nearing an end

Gabe Pruitt has not had many chances to perform when it counts for the Celtics. And Pruitt, who has played 461 minutes in 62 games in two seasons, might not get another opportunity with the team.

Random Thoughts on Random Things

The suspense is killing me as we wait to see what Danny does next. There are rumors being thrown around about Big Baby and sign and trades and Bruce Bowen, but that is all they are, rumors. Rumors are fun to talk about but you can't really tame them seriously until they are reported in the Globe or Herald as done deals. The schedule is not due out until sometime next month...

In case you were curious, yes, Marbury is still lifecasting

Since Friday, NBA free agent Stephon Marbury has been live broadcasting at StarburyTV.Yesterday, the guard could be seen eating Vaseline to help his shot vocal chords, while over the weekend, a shirtless Starbury cried on camera while listening to Kirk Franklin's "Lean On Me," danced in front of the mirror and asked for a billion dollars to start a network like Oprah...

Boston Celtics: Looking to Tie Loose Ends

With the acquisitions of Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels, the Boston Celtics have had a very successful offseason thus far. Wallace gives the team versatility off the bench, as he can play both the power forward and center positions. Sheed's outside shooting ability will fit in perfectly with playmakers like Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo. He also...
