The Celtics stopped the Rockets' 22 game win streak in impressive style. The first half was played fairly evenly and the teams were tied at 40 at halftime. But in the third quarter, the Celtics took over and outscored the Rockets 32-16 in the period. The final score was 94-74 and the Celtics are 2-0 so far in the Texas Triangle.

The Celtics won the first meeting between these two 97-93 on January 2, but the Rockets were playing without an injured Tracy McGrady. Tonight, Boston will likely be without Ray Allen due to an ankle injury. Another Celtics win would solidify its place as a favorite to win it all, and would push its record against Western Conference opponents to 22-4.

But combine the Rocket's 22-point home loss the Boston Celtics, and their well-documented playoff troubles, and the streak becomes an elaborate afterthought. The failures of their past, combined with the stock of talent that lies before them, gives the Rockets little room for error heading into March and the looming playoffs.

Sure, Yao Ming is good for a laugh or two in credit card commercials. But where was the Chinese giant when his team needed him most?
Or, maybe, Yao was just where he needed to be - safely injured on the sidelines - in order for the Rockets to find the inspiration to catapult to the top of the West.

In a calender year where the NFL's New England Patriots and PGA Tours Tiger Woods have experienced similar winning streaks, the Houston Rockets most recent accomplishment doesn't hold a candle to those. "Clutch City" quite frankly, I'm just unimpressed. . . . . .

The Boston Celtics came into Houston and broke up the second longest win streak in NBA history.
What does that mean for the Rockets? They went from 10th place in the playoff standings to 1st during that time, played better defense and came together as a team. But will 22 games mean momentum in the playoffs?
