Found March 10, 2008 on Fantasy Basketball Pros:
Wade
Multiple sources (1, 2, 3) this morning have confirmed the inevitable: the Heat's franchise player Dwayne Wade will be shut down for the rest of the season to undergo treatment on his left knee. The next question for fantasy owners is who should one pick up on the Heat? I like Ricky Davis a lot because he can do just about everything. In addition to that, he has been playing 40+ minutes recently because of the all the injuries Miami has sustained. Here's a look at his numbers the last couple of games, tell me he doesn't look like a good pickup with Wade out:

  • Karma will get you Heat fans... Beasely and Rose will go to West coast teams and you will have shut it down, weeks- no months, early for nothing.

P.S. have you ever seen a head coach decide to scout instead of coach? wow
  • It's about time. Wade should just get healthy and go at it next year.

Riley's a piece of crap who never stays by his team when they're bad.
  • No, I've never seen a coach decide to scout in lieu of coaching his team. But when your in a situation like the Heat are (great odds at getting the #1 overall pick next year), maybe it is a smart business move. I just wonder who they'll be looking at. Probably a big man?

Oh and Marinman, not only does Riley not stay with his team, but I don't think his team really is with HIM either in the sense that all of the Heat players pretty much despise his coaching ways. I think players in the NBA rated Riley as the coach they disliked playing for the most.
  • If they couldn't get any worse, they do. Wade should have just got the surgery last year, and he might not be hurting right now instead of getting swept in the 1st round last year. I really feel sorry for them and hope they'll be better next year. And Mourning shouldn't go out like this too.
  • They were terrible with him there and nothing will change when he leaves. Big deal! Suck it up and get ready for next season... This one's done for Miami... Stick a fork in it already!
  • Why would they let him play?
  • Dude it's Dwyane Wade, your going to blog about some one spell their name right. I think it's a good decision for him to get all healed, and then get back into shape again in the summer when he is good and ready.
  • ask Portland and Seattle if you need to quit early to get the top picks/talent in the draft... Karma will have the last laugh.

NBA: Dwayne Wade out for season

Well I guess the Miami Heat are going to have a really good shot at getting the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. Heat Coach Pat Riley announced today that Dwayne Wade is going to miss the rest of the NBA season. Wade has had lingering knee issues and will be undergoing treatment and therapy in order to bring it back to 100% in time for the 2008 / 2009 NBA season.

DWYANE WADE OR MR. GLASS?

I think it's high time Dwyane Wade gave up his nickname "Flash". Since winning the 2006 NBA Championship, Wade has spent more time in rehab that Lindsay Lohan. Now, Its a not question about if Dwayne Wade gets hurt, its a question of when. He's become a present day Penny Hardaway. He's become that running back that got too many carries his first couple...

Dwayne Wade Done For The Season - Miami Ups The Tanking Ante

With Dwayne Wade now done for the season, Miami has fully turned it's attention to landing the #1 pick in this June's draft. We take a look at some of the players who will benefit from Wade's absence and can help your fantasy basketball team down the stretch.

Puck the Frimaries, I'm voting for dance teams

Since everyone's talking about the Heat, now seems like a good time to chime in.[1] Starting right now, and continuing through April 3rd, you can vote for your favorite NBA Dance Team.[2] It's like March Madness, except the cheerleaders dancers just show their mini dresses[3] and underwear instead of full frontal nudity[4]. All classy like. [1] http://givemetherock.com...

That's Why They Have a Lottery

With Dwayne Wade shutting it down for the rest of the season and Pat Riley planning to miss some upcoming games, the Heat have become the perfect example of why a draft lottery is necessary in the NBA.

Day 133 of 170: Is it too late to pick up Ricky Davis?

Waiver Wire Line of the Night: Already mentioned Ricky Davis, so next up would be Daequan Cook (4.07) with 23 points on 5 threes. He only shot 9/20, so he passes the 70% rule. He jumped from a season average of 20 minutes to 29 and 43 over the last 2 games. And his name is an uncommon spelling. Not that I know a common spelling of Daequan. I guess if you have a spot, go for it and...

Shawn Marion is Magic: Can be in two places at one time!

A lot of interesting stuff took place in Philips Arena on Saturday night as not only an NBA game took place but there was an NBA doubleheader: Pat Riley fell to 0-4 in doubleheaders, Shawn Marion technically played and lost for two different teams on the same day, and the Miami Heat are still really bad at basketball. When all was said and done, the result of the replayed game...

Ricky Davis Is Bad for Your Team

Ricky Davis would appear to be a good player in the NBA. He is capable of putting up between 15 and 20 points per game. He can add 3 to 5 rebounds per game. He can jump right out of the gym to deliver thunderous dunks and alley-oops. He is an all-around athletic player who seemingly would be a good addition to any team. Seemingly.
