      What about the OKC Noodlers? Wiki on " noodlin" if you don't know. And no it's not some porn thing. The mascot could be a huge catfish!
      The second choice is the OKC Bombers...wait thats no good...

    Looks closer to the Nets or Knicks, at least they didin't take the name off of a car tag. They deserve a chance to suceed no matter what they are called!

  it's ok...no doubt retro-looking...good call, MILEHigh, on arena name...Thunder sounds decent...still bizzare, this move from Seattle...Hope franchise gets the necessary support

    Oklahoma City was great supporting the Hornets, so they at least deserve the chance. Who knows - they may be more loyal than big time markets because they didn't have a team and never will again!

    I lived in OKC for a few years. They have a great new arena, but I still wonder if they will support an NBA team in the long-run. No professional sports in that area. Big thing in OKC is the Sooners. I hope they get the support and last a long time. Would be great for the OKC area and the downtown area is very nice now. It's a place people want to go.

  Oh wow this is so lame when I hear Oklahoma City Thunder I think of a D-League or WNBA team! Im sorry but this name as no edge to it...and I hope they dont think that they are going to have a mascot, logo, or slogan that resemble the Warriors! Because most of us W's fans wont be having it....

  LAME. Here's what I don't get. He said the colors are blue (for the state flag) and red and orange (for the sunsets in Oklahoma. So they base there colors off sunsets, for a team called the Thunder? How much sense does that make. Also add the fact that the logo is very bland. They screwed up. I've seen many concepts that are 100 times better than this.

  from a graphic designers perspective everything about this logo says FAIL, from the typography to the layout of the icons and the "rays" behind it, it looks reallllllllllly amateur.

    when I first saw it, I figured it had to be a temporary logo while something better was in development. But they're selling merchandise with this crap on it, so I guess this is it!

  Thunder is OK, but I would have called the team Oklahoma instead of Oklahoma City. Let the whole State be in on it since Oklahoma has no other pro teams and won't in the future.

  how about they be called, The OKC " David Stern allowed the morally bankrupt and 'cash makes right' culture that is messing up america creep into the NBA. Clay Bennett stole a proud NBA franchise with a city that funded it and supported it and now it's in a smaller market where there is no guaruntee pro sports will succeed." 's.
  I added the 's because a team name should be plural.

  As a W's fan I was quite upset when i heard the name was going to be thunder. Our thunder is in our actual logo. The league should have not allowed them to call themselves after another teams logo/mascot. The colors look more like knicks or cats. I think should have gone with something crazy and catchy. Like some off the wall colors and mascot. They are the second millenium team and should have used it to their advantage to make a statement,"HEY, here we are and take notice!" Not,"Look, another team that looks like another teams."

  I'm amazed that a league and commissioner that value IMAGE so much would lay such an egg. How many millions did the OKC owner and NBA pour into the name, color, and marketing research to come up with this lameness. Stern, please retire now and find a replacement that is much more in touch with the times.

  if you really think about it alot of the NBA teams have bad names: Nets, Heat, Knicks, Lakers, Nuggets, i mean come on 76ers, all the names suck, the Thunder wont sound so bad as soon as they start winning like all the other teams with bad names had to do
