PLAYERS: Leon Powe
TEAMS: Cleveland Cavaliers

I think we're just about done with the Leon Powe stories around here.  At least, until the Cavs and C's meet on February 25 (which I assume will be the first time he could play against us). But both sides spoke today, and the Herald has a ton of quotes.“I talked to [Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca] for 45 minutes,” said Powe. “But he said they weren’t going to do nothing. I told Danny that I would take the one-year deal. But that was it. Leon Powe To Give Cavaliers Needed Depth

When examining the potential roster of the 2009-10 Cleveland Cavaliers, if there was one glaring hole, it was depth at the power forward position behind Anderson Varejao. Sure, there was last season’s rookie duo JJ Hickson and Darnell Jackson, but neither one has proven they can be relied on to log 12-18 minutes per game [...]

There Isn't Room For Leon

I love his game, his toughness, his tenacity and his story, but (despite the latest reports) there just isn't room on the Celtics for Leon Powe. Prior to the start of last season, we knew Danny was going to have a difficult time re-signing both Glen Davis and Powe. Both are undersized players who can play only one position - power forward. They could only share minutes off the...

Cavaliers sign forward Powe away from Celtics

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed free agent forward Leon Powe to a two-year contract. Powe, who averaged 7.7 points and 4.9 rebounds in 70 games with the Boston Celtics last season, tore the ACL in his left knee during the playoffs and had reconstructive surgery on May 5. He isn't expected to be ready to play for the Cavaliers until February. Powe spent his first three...
